Arrive at Islamabad International Airport and transfer to your hotel. After checking in and relaxing, enjoy a guided city tour including Faisal Mosque, the Pakistan Monument, Lok Virsa Museum, and the vibrant bazaars of Rawalpindi. Overnight in hotel.
Depart early for Chilas, crossing the scenic Babusar Pass (approx. 4,100 m). On the way, stop for photographic views and lunch. Arrive in Chilas by evening for dinner and hotel stay.
Continue the journey via the Karakoram Highway to Hunza. Pause at Thalichi to photograph Nanga Parbat and at Rakaposhi viewpoint. Arrive Karimabad by late afternoon, check into your hotel and rest.
Explore Baltit Fort (700 yrs old) and Altit Fort (900 yrs old), wander through Karimabad’s orchards and traditional bazaars, visit Altit’s women wood‑carpenters, and enjoy a scenic walk along the local water channel towards Hyderabad village. These two nights give essential acclimatization before trekking.
Begin the steep trail just above Baltit Fort, following an irrigation canal into the canyon. After a few hours ascend through rock and grass to reach shepherds’ huts and finally the lush, green Ultar Meadow—a summer pasture with awe‑inspiring views of Ultar Peak and glacier basins. Overnight camp.
Take a free day to relax in the meadow, wander among wildflowers, visit the base camp site below for views of Ultar Sar, or simply soak in the alpine serenity. This aids acclimatization and lets you absorb the landscape.
Rise early for the challenging ascent to Hon Pass via a steep ridge trail (4–5 hours up, 1.5–2 hours down). From the pass, immense panoramic vistas stretch across Hunza Valley and ranges including Spantik, Diran, Rakaposhi, and Barpu Glacier. Return to camp at Ultar Meadow for a well‑earned rest under the stars.
Descend from Ultar Meadow over 3–4 hours along the same trail, ending with the Baltit canal path. Arrive back in Karimabad for comfort, hotel stay and evening at leisure.
After breakfast, drive to Minapin village. Begin the trek from Minapin, crossing the river and ascending through forested switchbacks with views of Minapin Glacier and the Rakaposhi‑Diran crest. Reach Hapakun huts by afternoon (~2,815 m) and set up camp.
Continue ascent through forest and alpine meadows. Arrive at Tagaphari at midday—lush grazing land with shepherd huts overlooking the glacier. Set camp and enjoy the spectacular view of Rakaposhi and surrounding peaks.
Take a round‑trip trek to Diran Peak Base Camp, enjoying close‑up views of the 7,266 m Diran and its surrounding glacier. Return to Hapakun camp for the night.
Descend to Minapin village in the morning, then drive back to Karimabad. Enjoy hot showers and a soft mattress after the rugged trekking days.
Relax in Karimabad: stroll in town, revisit any sites, interact with locals, or prepare for onward journey. A rest day to reflect and rejuvenate.
Transfer to Baskochi Meadow via jeep, enjoying views en route. Baskochi is a scenic alpine meadow offering peaceful camping and interaction with shepherding communities.
Traverse Upper Hunza’s high pastures, then return by road to Gilgit. Evening in hotel with optional stroll around the riverside town.
Head south from Gilgit to Naran Valley via Babusar Pass, stopping at scenic viewpoints and lakes. Arrive in Naran for dinner and overnight.
Explore the alpine meadows and lakes of Naran, or relax in the mountain resort. A gentle day to rest body and mind.
Begin the return journey via the Karakoram Highway, visiting Taxila archaeological museum en route. Arrive in Islamabad by evening and rest in hotel.
Enjoy a final day in Islamabad—visit any missed landmarks, shop in local bazaars, or explore nearby Taxila in more depth.
Transfer to Islamabad airport for your departure flight, concluding the journey through the majestic Karakoram.
